How do you figure that? I work, pay taxes, take care of my own kids. More than half of the people in these counties don't, but i'm ruining the economy.

You are right getreal the economy was already gone. I want to thank you and your friends for making that happen. The money you would lend me was already mine so no thank you. Sorry but after reading your posts you really don't get it. It's all about you and your union buddies.

Interesting to watch what goes on. The bankers and politicians destroy the economy and all you "sheep" blame the State and County workers. With that said, all I see when I'm in a Municipal bldg is everyone complaining how DMV line is too long and there is not enough workers to get a job done. If "we" are costing too much, who will plow the roads, take care of crime, fight a fire. Or will you all be selective in who you support. Are the business owners paying their proper share of taxes? Or are they all claiming they only made a minimum amount. I know plenty of business owners who all claim they are making no money but have more money than I ever will. Do they hire workers off the books? Put they blame where it belongs, I'm sure "Bob" has plenty of friends in Town, village, county and state politics but it's ok for them to line their pockets.

Getreal, thank you for finally acknowledging that you get paid by the taxpayer. Please continue with the platitudes, they are entertaining.

We are paying more.. the size and scope of the government is raising faster than the cost of a speeding ticket. Time to CUT the overblown wasteful government. And please cut from the top first!

Yes I know my pay comes from taxes...My point is that if people didn't need my services I wouldn't have a position!!! I work hard unlike the way all you people portray state workers..and yes like I have "commented" in the past that I have worked both sides and I was paid more on the other.. my position in your government is booming, thanks to you! If people were honest law abiding citizens then you wouldn't need me or many of the other state worker's...but that will never happen!!

My pay doesn't increase either! and it is not the government employees that created this problem it was wall street an all the banks!!! but everyone blames the government workers..people get laid off because companies didn't make "enough" profit to line their pockets. I pay just as much taxes!!!!

Get Real, where do you think the government gets it's money to pay government workers?? They sell nothing, they produce no goods, it comes from the taxation of income of private industry and their employees. Government worker work for the TAXPAYERS, not the "government". So yes I and all other taxpayers do in fact pay your way and that of any other employee whose wages come from tax dollars. Also you are in essence merely "recycling" our tax dollars when you pay tax. Think it through for a moment. I also do appreciate the situation of gov't workers but when do the tax increases stop??? My pay doesn't increase in conjunction with my taxes.

Where do you think 'government' gets the money to pay 'govt. workers'?? Why, the taxpayer of course. We DO pay your way. You have made comments like this before and still do not realize that as part of the lowest common denominator, you are part of the problem.

Hey taxed too much You don't pay my way I work for my money and have to deal with the whining people like you. And I as most government workers pay as much tax as you!... I don't get paid more than private jobs, my health benefits I pay for and I pay into my own retirement so quit your whining if it wasn't for the government workers their would be no one working in these counties to pay any taxes.

The notion that any of us would spend even as much as last year with what the stuporvisors have just done to us is almost funny. I pray competent candidates can be found to replace these nodding donkeys to cut and slash as should have happened this time and face up to their responsibilities to the people. And next the princes of the school systems will be at us once again.

It's the same old story- by raising property taxes you are hurting those who can least afford it. It is time to get some good local officals and throw the inept ones out!

Imagine that Wall Street Journal ranked NYS the 34th worst state in the union. California is at the bottom. Imagine this we spend too much money on free loaders! I think we should re-write what is on the Statue of Liberty to read "Send us your Hard Working, Tax paying, God Fearing people! Need to scratch off the part about the free hand outs for the undeserving. "It also spends the most in the country on public welfare at $2,276 per person. However, this high spending has led to continuous fiscal problems in the state. New York has the eighth-highest debt per capita in the country as well as an S&P AA credit rating. Even with the high level of spending, New York falls short in many measurements. It is worse than average in violent crime, high school graduation, poverty, and decline in home value since 2006." Imagine that!

(taxes going up for this!) Therefore, this got me thinking, looks like the lowest base paid person got the boot so the king could get a throne. How can they justify one person laid off? “Oh we struggled so hard! That’s what Jon told us to say!” This is just one department, what are the other ones doing?
